By Juanita P. Fain, Vice President for Student Affairs
I am very excited to welcome you to our inaugural Student Affairs monthly Newsletter. We have entitled it, “Rebel Tracks.” The track on a railway or railroad, also known as the permanent way, is the structure consisting of the rails, fasteners, railroad ties, and ballast, plus the underlying subgrade. It enables trains to move by providing a dependable surface upon which their wheels to roll.
And, in the Division of Student Affairs we strive to provide dependable and supportive pathways for students to persist and advance to accomplish their goals. We provide the tracks from the application process for admissions and financial aid; registration for classes; to connecting with other students and activating learning outside of the classroom; to the last rail at graduation.
The Rebel Tracks Student Affairs Newsletter will highlight the variety of impactful services and programs we provide; and, illuminate the impact the Division has on advancing the UNLV Top Tier vision and mission.
So, I invite you all to come aboard the Fain Train to travel along Rebel Tracks!
